Getting Started

If you are new to doing business with the Department of Public Works or the County of Los Angeles, here are the first four things that you should do:

The first thing that you should do is register as a vendor with the County of Los Angeles.  You will be notified by email of upcoming bid opportunities throughout the County, not just with Public Works.

If you are a professional architectural or engineering consultant, register with Public Works today!  It's your opportunity to tell Public Works about your expertise and be asked to participate in Request For Proposals (RFPs).

The Calendar of Events can keep you up to date on free and low cost seminars, workshops and vendor fairs.  We can even send you a reminder several days before an event.

The County's Local Small Business Enterprise Preference Program offers a bid price preference to small businesses with headquarters within Los Angeles County, giving them a competitive advantage in the bid selection process.  You must be certified by the County to be eligible for the preference.  See Program description and steps required for Certification.  For assistance contact Public Works: dpwpio@dpw.lacounty.gov
